This is what membership actually looks like

Monthly in-person coworking days and twice-monthly virtual sessions give you the structure and accountability that working from home often doesn’t.

Lunchtime sessions, expert talks, and member-led knowledge sharing. Real insights from people doing the same thing – not generic business advice.

The Slack community is where you can be honest about what’s not working, get a second opinion, and feel less like you’re making every decision alone.

Why NEFN exists

I spent the first couple of years of freelancing making every decision in a vacuum.

There were business support groups in the region but they were built for companies with teams and growth plans. There were networking events but nothing that understood the specific reality of being self-employed and working alone. I went looking for a community of freelancers in the North East. I couldn’t find one.

So I built it.

NEFN was created because I was frustrated. Because I knew I wasn’t the only freelancer in the North East wondering if they were doing it right. And because I believed – and still believe – that freelancers do better when they’re connected to other freelancers.

This is the thing I wish had existed when I started.
